He’s Our Rescuer

“He IS our rescuer, if we let Him.”

“Is anyone crying for help? God is listening, ready to rescue you.” Psalm 34:17 MSG

HELP!

There have been many times when I’ve yelled for help. Like with a blowout, up the back to the hair kind of diaper changes. Or when I was doing dishes, dropped a glass, and it shattered everywhere while barefoot. I even had to yell for help when the dog was sprayed by a skunk and I didn’t want her inside the house. Each time, my husband was there ready to lend a hand.

But what about in the quiet moments? What about those silent cries for help, because mothering or life just seemed so overwhelming?

“God, I need help! Only You can fix this, mend this, heal this, restore this.” We all can fill in the blank with a “this”. And yet, scripture says He is listening and ready to rescue us. Sounds so easy, right? Sometimes we feel like we keep asking Him for this or that, and it seems like He’s not listening, or we haven’t seen results.

Can I encourage you, sister? He is listening, He DOES care. He is for you. He is ready to bring you results. Let’s put our faith and trust in Him.

As a mom, we want to and are willing to do anything for our children. When they hurt, we hurt. When they’re happy or excited about an outcome, we are right there with them, celebrating those wins! Our Father has instilled that into us because we are created in His image. So if we want all of it for our children, our family, wouldn’t He want and DO even more for us!?! He wants us to call on Him. He wants us to trust and rely on Him for all things.

He IS our rescuer, if we let Him.

Action Steps:

  • Where is God asking you to trust Him? How does He want you to rely on Him and His promises for you? Write out and pray over the areas you need Him to show up in.

  • Listen to “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle and meditate on the words

  • Listen also to “Rescue” by Jordan St Cyr ft. Tiffany Hudson

Let’s Pray: Heavenly Father, We thank You for always being there even when we can’t feel You. Help us to trust in You always. Help us to know You ARE listening and ready to rescue us. When life seems too big, help us to remember that You are greater. We love You and ask in Jesus name. Amen.
