Holy and Blameless

“Lies do not love you the way God does.”

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” Ephesians 1:4 (ESV)
Filling our heads with lies is one of the easiest ways for the enemy to attack us. Every single person out there, whether they’re a mom or not, has heard a lie go through their head, that wasn’t put there by God.
Moms, I pray that you can recognize those lies when they come. Remember, if it’s not biblical, it’s not true and not from God.
I don’t know what lies might be running through your head right now, but I do want to take a minute to offer you some encouragement. Maybe you sometimes think that you’re not cut out for motherhood, or that another mom would be a better parent to your kid. Maybe you feel less than, and compare your mothering to another mom.
The truth is God chose you exactly for this moment, for these children, and gave you purpose. The first chapter of Ephesians goes on to remind us that we are God’s children, given grace and redemption.
Mom, all throughout scripture you can see that God is for you. Because of His great love, you are holy and blameless in His sight. He has called you to your place, for your children whom He also has chosen, and offers you adoption into His kingdom to “bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth”. (Verse 10)
Lies do not bring holiness. Lies don’t bring unity. Lies do not love you the way God does. Remember who’s you are.
Action Steps:
When a lie enters your head, tell it to go away. Say, “That’s not true, you don’t love me the way God does, so I’m not listening to you”.
If you’re struggling with a lie, tell a friend! Have a conversation about what the truth is, and ask her to keep you accountable by sending you reminders of the truth periodically. (Join Motherhood Meets Faith for a community of moms that you can talk to)

Prayer: God, I need help recognizing all these lies going through my mind. Show me the lies that I’m believing and guide me toward the truth. Thank You for loving me and making me holy and blameless in Your sight. In Your mighty name I pray, amen.
